AI talent and startup programmes in Kazakhstan and Armenia approach October deadlines
Applications cover master’s-level AI support, impact startup investment and applied research funding, with deadlines from October 11 to 13.
8 Oct 2026
Founders, researchers and prospective AI specialists have three near-term application opportunities in Kazakhstan and Armenia. Astana Hub has issued an October 8 reminder for its Alem AI Talent Lab master’s programme, while Armenia’s Enterprise Incubator Foundation lists open calls for impact startups and applied research teams.
Kazakhstan: AI study and project support
Astana Hub’s latest announcement invites prospective master’s students to apply to Alem AI Talent Lab by October 11. The programme combines support for study at QAIRU with mentoring and resources for research, applied AI projects and technology entrepreneurship.
Tuition support uses an income share agreement, a form of repayable financing linked to future income. Participants can work with mentors on projects and build professional connections as they pursue research, careers or startup ideas.
The programme’s application guide lists a minimum GPA of 3.3 out of 4.0 and an IELTS Academic score of at least 6.5, or an accepted TOEFL iBT equivalent. Applicants need a degree certificate, CV and recommendation letters, including at least one from a teacher or academic supervisor. They also submit a motivation statement and an idea for an AI project.
The selection timetable places document checks in October and the committee stage in early November, with results scheduled for November 6. Applications use Astana Hub’s Hub ID sign-in.
Armenia: investment for impact startups
EIF’s second Impact Acceleration Program call lists October 12 as its application deadline. It targets technology startups working on social, environmental or economic challenges in Armenia, with a working prototype or minimum viable product.
The programme combines mentorship, lab access and fundraising support. Selected startups can receive equity investments of $30,000 to $100,000 from the C-Quadrat Ampega Social Fund. Eligible areas include health, climate, agriculture, education, financial inclusion and deep technology. The programme is supported by RECONOMY, funded by Sweden’s Sida and implemented by Helvetas.
Armenia: funding for AI-led applied research
A separate EIF research call backed by PMI Science R&D Center Armenia offers up to AMD 4,235,000, including taxes and mandatory payments, for projects lasting three to six months.
Teams need at least three members aged 18 or over and an applied research project that integrates AI into its methods. Universities, research institutes, startups and other relevant organisations can take part. Applications must be in English and are due by October 13 at 23:59 Yerevan time.
Alongside financing, the research programme offers mentoring, collaboration with specialists and opportunities to develop partnerships for commercialising research results.
